Where they are now…
Six of the Nikibasika youth have now received “certificates of completion” as they have moved into adulthood.
Elinah was the first university graduate of Nikibasika, in 2013. She is living in Kampala running a small business selling jewellery, a percentage of which supports women with HIV. She is also doing contract work with a HIV health promotion organization.
“Big Benson” has just graduated as a mechanic, and is working in a garage near Kasese and setting up life on his own. He is learning about running a business and has a goal of opening his own garage within the next three years.
Sylver graduated with a university degree in business in 2013, and is living and working in Gisenyi, Rwanda, near his home village.
Immaculate is working as a hairdresser in a busy salon in Kigali, Rwanda.
Annet has graduated as a hairdresser and is living in Kampala.
Ronnie is working as a mechanic in Mbale, Uganda.
