Cate has been involved with Nikibasika since 2006, and is one of the volunteer Co-Directors. She is one of the core drivers of the mission of the project, and with Blair, oversees the day to day operations of the Canadian charity and the project on the ground in Uganda.
In her “real life,” Cate is a Partner in the Potential Group, a consulting firm focusing on organizational and system change and strategic planning, based in Toronto. Her clients are mainly in the field of healthcare and other not-for-profit organizations. Cate views her main purpose as creating meaningful conversations that bridge vastly different perspectives and needs with the goal of sustainable, generative change.
Cate’s client work is integrated with her academic work. She completed her PhD in Human and Organizational Systems in 2008, and is now doing scholarly research on collaborative communication. Cate also writes a blog that includes writing and photography about her experiences with Nikibasika and other explorations.
